Noguchi Exhibit | Galleries/Exhibits, 1999

This temporary exhibit at the Bryan Ohno Gallery was curated by architects George Suyama and Jay Deguchi. The installation featured Isamu Noguchi’s sculptures and Ikan light fixtures in a 3,000 square foot gallery. Suyama and Deguchi’s exhibit was meant to heighten the contrast and observer’s awareness of the serene and quiet beauty found within the art. This project demonstrates how the use of common materials, such newspapers and steel plates, can transform an ordinary space in unexpected ways.
